We want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Yellowstone Arboretum, The Botanical Society of ZooMontana and ZooMontana itself. As you visit the grounds you will be witnessing the strong diversity of tree species found, both common and uncommon, here in south central Montana. Our unique climate lends to many obstacles for the growth of trees. Weather in Montana can be harsh and cruel at times so the trees you'll see have gained strength through our acute hot and cold, windy seasons, drought and tough Zone 4 conditions. We are also proud to be selected as a "Plant Select" location, one of three in the state, to research the before-market survival of new species.
